Management of process phases

Every process has to be defined with phases, so it is clear to the participants, how processes progress and what happens on each phase.

Management of process's phases is done from the dashboard's "Process phases" -section. New phases can be added from the phase listing's "New" action button.

Existing phases can be managed from their action buttons. The process's phases have the following action buttons:

  • Activate - This button allows you to activate a specific phase. The activate button only shows if the phase is not active, so if a process has only one phase, it does not show. Only one phase can be active at a time.
  • Edit - This button allows you to manage a specific phase of a process.
  • Delete - This button deletes a phase of a process. Deletion happens after a confirmation prompt, so in case you press the delete button by accident, the rights do not get deleted right away.

The adding and management -view of the process's phases has the following information that you have to pay attention to:

  • Title - All of the process's phases have to have a title. This is shown on the process's phase listing -view's title bar.
  • Description - All the phases of the process have to have a description. This is shown on the process's phase listing -view's description field.
  • Start time - The start time of the phase, indicates when the phase starts.
  • End time - The end time of the phase, indicates when the phase ends.

Pay attention to the activation of phases, it does not happen automatically based on the dates set for the phases. Each phase has to be activated manually from the dashboard, when the specific phase starts.

Phases are important to define also because you can define what kind of possibilities or inhibitions the participants have on each phase of the component. For example you can define that the "Proposals" -component only allows creating new proposals at a certain phase, or that the ability to comment ends to a certain phase, as described in the section "Proposals".
