Settings for proposals component

In the adding and management -view of the "Proposals" -component there is some additional information you have to pay attention to in addition to the component's basic information described in the "Management of components" -section:

• Support limit per participant - Defines the amount of endorsements a participant has to endorse different proposals. If you do not want limitations, you can set the value to be "0".
• Proposal limit per participant - Defines the amount of proposals a participant can add proposals. If you do not want limitations, you can set the value to be "0".
• Allow editing of proposals within a specific timeframe - A time limit of minutes, which determines how long a participant can edit their proposal after creation. The limit is set to keep open participation genuinely open, and so users cannot edit their proposals after other participants have seen them or participated in them.
• Threshold per proposal - Defines the maximum amount of endorsements a proposal can have.

The following information in the global settings of the proposals component you have to pay attention to:

• Proposal answering enabled - Defines if replying to the proposals is enabled for the admin user, so called official reply. This setting can be overwritten for each phase.
• Official proposals enabled - Defines if creation of official proposals is enabled for the admin users. Participants can see from the user interface whether a proposal is official or made by a citizen.
• Comments enabled - Defines if commenting on proposals is enabled. This setting can be overwritten for each phase with its opposite setting "Comments blocked".
• Geocoding enabled - Defines if adding a location to a proposal is enabled for the participants. With the location, the proposals are shown on a map. Adding a location to a proposal is not mandatory.
• Allow attachments - Defines if attachments can be added to proposals. Attachments are not filtered so users can add almost any file to the system which you have to pay attention to. The system itself does not have an antivirus so you have to be careful when opening the attachments. We recommend consulting your IT-management about attachments before enabling them.
• New proposal help text - Defines if a short help text is shown to the users when creating proposals. In this field you can add information about what kind of content is expected from the user and add some tips how to create the proposal.

Proposals component settings have the following information that you have to pay attention to:

• Supports enabled - Is it possible to support proposals during the current phase.
• Supports disabled - Is proposal supporting blocked during the current phase.
• Supports hidden - Are the amount of supports shown to participants during the current phase.
• Comments blocked - Is commenting blocked during the current phase.
• Participants can create proposals - Is it possible to create proposals during the current phase.
• Proposal answering enabled - Is it possible for admin users to reply to proposals during the current phase.
